Chris Gomersall James
Sound Supervisor
Having worked globally as a sound engineer touring sell out shows, both in the studio and behind the board, Chris naturally became our lead expert for music shoots. When transitioning from music, Chris’s attention to detail, technical precision, and conscientious approach, lent beautifully to the world of location sound for film and TV. Now with 15 years of experience and an abundance of knowledge, Chris not only records location sound, but also focuses on editing and design for film, television, and music industries. On top of that, Chris has become Soundcatchers’ workshop liaison providing training and guidance in order to continue the development of our sound engineers. Whether he is on location or in the studio, Chris’s sharp creative eye and dedication to quality sound, makes him a pleasure to work with!
Why do you sound record?
“I'd always been into music and recording, experimenting with tape and synths, I started off working in recording studios, then toured with bands doing their live sound and installing sound systems and then moved across into sound for film and TV when I met Paul (10 years ago! ). I love the process of collaborating and of crafting something collectively, telling a story, so, working on productions is a great blend of the technical and the artistic.”
