With over a decade of experience in music production from a previous life in Sound Engineering and Songwriting for musical artists, Rich was able to introduce many transferable skills to the world of location sound recording. Now with 7 years experience in the field, Rich has gotten to work on some amazing projects, from documentaries for Netflix, to various viral campaigns, and major movie junkets. Rich’s versatile knowledge, consideration of others, and easy going attitude, makes him one of Soundcatchers most well-rounded and dependable recordists! 

Why do you sound record?

“The reason I enjoy sound recording and the reason I found my way into it are two rather different things!

It found me (in a way) as I was phasing out of pursuing song writing / production as a steady profession... I needed a change... and so I was a runner for one day where I met the founder of Soundcatchers. What a small world!

However, the reason I enjoy it comes from the satisfaction it brings, seeing a project through and into an end product. Or even if I was one small part of a much greater project (the way it often tends to be), it is always a pleasure and an honour to be able to say you were a part of it. Hours can be long and the larger scale jobs can be challenging at times, but that's all part of it.”
